SAN_FRANCISCO_GETTING_AROUND

The city's cable cars are both cute and functional.
San Francisco offers excellent mass transit

Like most European cities -- and a few U.S. cities -- San Francisco has an excellent public transportation system. You shouldn't have any trouble getting from one place to another while leaving your car safely parked somewhere.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit ) and Municipal Metro start on Market Street and branch off south and west. For other locations, take the Muni buses. Cabs are abundantly available.

Cable offer service between Fisherman’s Wharf and Union Square and Nob Hill and Russian Hill.

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the largest and best-known area airport, and easily accessible by the BART system. Across the bay is Oakland International Airport (OAK), and 50 miles to the south is San Jose International Airport (SJC). Both are accessible by a shuttle bus.
