Bring your boat and explore Mission Bay Park, which covers 4,200 acres of land and water. It’s laced with a network of waterways, inlets and islands, and offers 27 miles of meandering shoreline with sandy beaches, marinas and resorts.
Qualcomm Stadium accommodates a variety of major sporting events including the San Diego Chargers NFL football team, San Diego State University Aztecs Football, the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl and the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.
A visit to the San Diego Wild Animal Park is like going on safari. Admission includes access to the Discovery Station, Savanna Cool Zone, Jameson Research Island, the Samburu Jungle Gym and more.
For a true arts experience, Balboa Park is home to 15 museums, arts and international culture associations, and the San Diego Zoo. Included are a museum of photographic arts, the San Diego Air & Space Museum, automotive museum, model railroad museum, plus the Museum of Art and the Natural History Museum.
San Diego has always been a Navy town, so for a bit of Naval history, you can stop by the San Diego Maritime Museum and see the Star of India, the oldest sea-going sailing ship in the world, or visit the San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum is located aboard the USS Midway, an aircraft carrier that served for 47 years. |
