What is meant by Special Needs

Some road trip destinations may not have accommodations for those with mobility issues. Select the Special Needs checkbox if you or someone in your travel party has difficulty walking or uses a wheelchair.

What's an eTwin?

An eTwin is your electronic twin, representing the "personality" of your road trip. It is based on such details as the people you will be traveling with, your mode of transportation, and your interests. Your travel party can be your family, your two best friends, or any other combination of people. And obviously, who you're traveling with dictates how you'll travel and what you'll do - your road trip attributes.

Your road trip attributes may include hotel choice, preferred activities, flight options, miles traveled per day and others.

How does it work?

The RoadEscapes trip planning tool provides results based on your eTwin. For example, a family of four interested in learning about the nation's history will get different results than a couple looking to relax and enjoy cultural pursuits.

You can create new eTwins and/or modify current eTwins. Your eTwin Collection will be saved to be used again for future road trips.

From here you can:

Look for a hotel at a good stopping point.

Look for a campground at a good stopping point.

Note that when you select a hotel or campground, it will be added to the end of your Trip Plan. You will need to move it to the right position in your plan and re-plot the trip to get driving directions there.

You can also just insert a stop without adding a hotel or campground.
